Czech Cup, ČKS Cup, and Adult Competitions
Did you know there’s not just one competition series in Czech figure skating, but several? And that adults have their own categories too? Here’s a clear and simple overview of the competition system of the Czech Figure Skating Association (ČKS) for the 2025/26 season.
Czech Cup (Český pohár – ČP)
This series is for skaters who have passed the official performance test for their age category—in other words, for advanced skaters. The only exception: the youngest kids (e.g. novice boys and girls) can compete even without the test.
ČKS Cup (Pohár ČKS)
This series is open to skaters who haven’t passed a performance test. It’s a more accessible competition, perfect for beginners or those who want to compete without the pressure of tests or rankings.
ČKS Cup – Adult A
For adult skaters who have passed a performance test suitable for their age group. This category is for those who train more seriously, compete regularly, and have passed certain skill assessments.
ČKS Cup – Adult B
This is for adults who haven’t passed a performance test yet or only have a lower-level test (e.g. level 2 or 4).Ideal for hobby skaters or those who returned to skating as adults.
ČKS Club Cup (Klubový pohár ČKS)
An open series for skaters who have passed a performance test but are not taking part in the Czech Cup for various reasons. There’s no limit on the number of starts in this series, as long as the skater stays within the total limit of 9 competitions per season.
Can I Combine Competitions?
Yes! From the 2025/26 season, skaters are allowed to compete in different series within their age group. But there are a few key rules:
✅ You can combine the Czech Cup and ČKS Cup (maximum 2 events in the “other” cup)❌ You cannot compete in both the Czech Cup and Club Cup📊 Total number of competitions per season: 9 max
What About Music?
All competitions allow both instrumental and vocal music in programs.
This system gives skaters of all levels—from beginners to high-level athletes—a chance to compete and gain valuable experience.Whether your goal is to win a title or simply enjoy the performance, Czech figure skating has a place for everyone.
