At the end of January 2025, the 11th Winter Youth Olympics (ODM) took place in the Moravian-Silesian Region – a unique sports event that gives young athletes the chance to compete, experience the atmosphere of a big competition, and make new friendships. This year, the event was hosted by cities like Třinec, Ostrava, Frýdek-Místek, and Český Těšín, where the figure skating competitions were held.

The races were full of excitement, nerves, and joy. Our Tomáš Verner Academy had three amazing skaters on the ice – Michelle Eve Kučabová, Barbora Abrahamová, and Vanesa Kadlečková – who earned their place at such a prestigious event through hard work and beautiful skating all season.

Michelle delivered a great performance and proudly took home the bronze medal. She skated with confidence, lightness, and elegance, delighting both the judges and the audience. Bára finished just off the podium in 4th place, and also earned admiration for her energetic and passionate performance. Both girls showed what it means to skate from the heart – with joy, dedication, and humility.

Vanesa fought bravely, and just qualifying for the Olympics is a big achievement and a valuable experience. Every race at this level helps skaters grow and brings new motivation and joy from sharing the moment.

All three girls represented our club with pride. They stepped on the ice with courage, showed what they can do, and took home unforgettable memories. The Youth Olympics is not just about results – it’s about the atmosphere, friendships, and moments you’ll always remember. There was no shortage of those – from shared travel and training, to supporting teammates and celebrating every good moment on the ice.

Thank you to our girls for proudly representing us – we wish them lots of energy and success in their upcoming competitions!
